POINT – Process Operator in Training program

“By completing the Process Operator in Training program, I went from working in an art gallery to working in a mine smelter, and then eventually underground. I knew nothing about mining and did not even know it was as established an industry as it was.  I received exposure to all different types of mine environments and entry-level work and developed an understanding of the whole process.  Eventually I would go to work with the mobile maintenance team underground, where I went from washing trucks to becoming a supervisor.  I’m proud to have learned so much, and gained all this experience.  I will never be without work, and that helps me feel secure”.
