Northern Construction Trades Training Program

The Northern Construction Trades Training Program (NCTT) is an innovative and unique training model designed with the opportunity for Northern Manitoba Aboriginals to gain access to an Apprenticeship training model that will take them from entry level one right through to journey person Red Seal within 4/5 years.  The program will train apprentices in 3 high demand trades – Industrial Electrician, Industrial Mechanic (Millwright) and Steamfitter/Pipefitter which will include technical training for all levels and industrial Placements working towards the required apprenticeship hours.  The project started on January 19/15 with 2 weeks of Life Skills Training which then carried onto 12 weeks of Intro to Trades Training.  Candidates will then enter into technical training/Industrial Placements starting in May 2015. 32 participants from across Northern Manitoba make up the cohort for this program.
